What is Ripped on the road!!

Ripped on the road.

Ripped on the road simply began as a term my team and my personal coaching clients and i would use as reference to staying on target to your goals (lose fat, build muscle , look better) and sticking to your plan when on holiday, travelling or working on the road,  it became sort of a mantra to live by while away from our facility where we trained!

kind of a samurai code of rules, like a strength coaches version of the book of 5 rings! (the goal to stay ripped rather than win a sword fight).

by the way, read that book - a book of five rings!

I call living ripped on the road  - "practice mastery, live like a samurai"

practicing the art of mastery to ensure you stayed on track whilst away and was able to jump right back into the game on your return without falling behind the rest of the crew.

that was the kind of short answer how it came about:

the Ripped on the road codes:

I encourage you to do something similar, feel free to use our rules, ours were based on simplicity and efficiency and keeping a positive mind.

the 5 codes below gives you the tools to help you "walk the path" even when an obstacle is blocking the way, that obstacle in most of our cases was a business trip, but it could just as easily be anything else that takes you away from your normality, we found having a code to live by "on the road" not only helped us stay "ripped on the road" we found in many cases guys and girls were coming back in leaner and super motivated! they not only stayed on the path and maintained their progress, they had actually lost body fat, got stronger and brought crazy motivation back in with them!

what was happening here!? it was pretty simple, focused attention and limiting variables, the 5 codes of staying Ripped on the road created a "way" that ensured completing simple productive tasks lead to consistent steps towards our goals such as
  • lose fat
  • build muscle
  • look better
  • lose weight
  • get stronger
  • move better
  • improve health
  • gain confidence
whatever the goals are the codes can be applied.

The codes:

  1. Habits - Live a few good habits to replace bad ones. Practice daily to attain familiarity, treating them as ordinary affairs, so the mind remains unchanged.
  2. Simplicity - keep things simple - doing simple things masterfully will always produce greater results than complicated things poorly executed.
  3. Be prepared. an essential habit is to have sharp tools and keep them well maintained. its up to you to use them masterfully, even when doing menial tasks.
  4. Dominate more procrastinate less - don't worry about the minutia of every aspect of nutrition, training and program design. "just getting shit done", just doing the workout wins.
  5. Protect the mind - cleanse your mind of the days barrage of "soul sappers" Before sleeping and upon waking, before you transcend into work mode read something of inspiration or productivity go to sleep and wake up with a positive mind!
the simple fact of having these codes of staying "Ripped on the road" whilst away lead to massively increased motivation, productivity and results; more muscle was built, more fat was lost even whilst away on business or on holiday!

The key ingredient was mindset, things are simply easier when the tasks in hand are laid out in front of you and you just have to walk the path, within each code is a few tasks - done for you, to push you towards your goals on keep you on track.

for example in the Habit code - you simply have to complete 2 of the many brutally simple, easy to follow time efficient, effective ROTR Workouts that are done for you. complete your nutrition targets for the day and the read inspiration.

Ripped on the road and the 5 codes is now being created and will be released very soon. It will be  a done for you code to live by that is a bible for the modern day business man and woman or any person who just wants to cut to the chase and simplify losing fat, building muscle and looking better.

come say hi on Facebook and Twitter
